  The food is tasty, but the service was in complete disarray. They seemed overwhelmed by the few tables that were seated, often neglecting to take orders or bringing orders to the wrong table.

  Red Papaya is a Thai/Viet restaurant in the unique setting of the Old Quebec Street mall in Guelph. There are lots of seats inside the restaurant and there is a little patio area outside the restaurant inside the mall as well. I think this location used to be a pub. They also have a little bar area where you can order drinks and watch sports. Despite its capacity to hold many tables, it seemed pretty dead on a Friday afternoon. Maybe it's busier in the evenings and weekends. I ordered green curry with beef, and it was okay. The green beans and bamboo shoots in the curry didn't seem very fresh. The sauce reminded me of ones in jars that you can get from grocery stores to make curry at home. Overall, it is pretty decent for Guelph, which doesn't have a lot of great Asian restaurants.

  Their pho broth is pretty good but they cheap out on the toppings. Service is pretty good and fast. I have tried their other food items on the menu but they were all just okay. Probably will not be back again.

  Run away from this place. Honestly, I was so disappointed. It wasn't busy, yet service was painfully slow. Took well over an hour to receive our orders for a family of four. My wife didn't even get her food! Presentation was sad. My pad thai with chicken, shrimp and veggies looked thrown together, resembled a bowl of slop and tasted bland. I've had much better pad thai in a mall food court. Bathroom floor was sticky. The location would be more suitable for a pub or chain restaurant.
