  My husband and I went here this past Saturday, and were very poorly treated by the bartender. We are in our forties, so not a part of the young University crowd. I sat on a bar stool and was facing away from the bar. 20-30 min later, my husband heard the women beside me say, 'I am saving that chair for a friend'. to the bartender. (They were friends) The bartender very rudely told me to move, so I got up and said to my husband 'I don't know why I have to move', which then the bartender flew off the handle and started yelling and swearing at me. We could not believe how she spoke to me. Very embarrassing and completely uncalled for.
  Needless to say, she ruined our evening.
  As a manager myself, I would not be pleased to have my staff treating our clients that way.

  I've always loved the food at the Albion and it was good as always, but we waited 2 hours for food. We arrived and nobody wrote down our party and it took 1 hour to be seated. It took 1 hour after ordering for our apps to arrive. After ordering at 7:30 we were only able to leave at 10:30pm. The server consistently forget our orders, although I feel the restaurant was understaffed as she seemed stressed. I won't come here again even thought I love their patio.

  One of the oldest pubs in Ontario, the Albion offers a gorgeous view of the Basilica of our Lady, personalized service, and a pleasant atmosphere. While the selection of beers on tap could be larger, and the food can be hit and miss, the Albion remains a must see destination for visitors to Guelph, and a popular stop for locals of all ages.
